Christmas Fun…

Christmas is getting fun around this zoo. The fear of the big man in red is over and everyone understands it’s a special time. I wish I could bottle it up for later in the year, but I guess that’s what makes the holidays so special. Once a year I let the kiddos jump on the bed = Christmas fun. I HEART FACES this week is “Share Your Silly Photos”. Check them out for a fun perspective of the holidays. We had a bunch of silly faces around our house, but this one took the cake.

A Touch of Sun

I Heart Faces this week is a Touch of Sun. This little blog thing of mine is neglected. It comes behind feeding the goldfish…which let me tell you is pretty far down on the list. (I secretly hope the fish become boring) But I love that the weekly challenges make you think….and I usually end up going through older pictures. I always discover something new sitting there in my vault of digitally undeveloped film. It’s like a little present. (and a reminder that I HAVE to get some of my own family pictures culled, edited and printed) I end up staying up too late looking at them, but I always go to bed with a smile on my face and a full heart.

This picture is from a trip to visit a dear friend, college roommate and European backpacking partner in crime. I hope our kiddos get to see more of each other and enjoy the sunshine, wherever that might be.

Back to School

I Heart Faces this week is Back to School. As parents, we are ready to get back into a routine. I’m not sure the kiddos are thinking this school thing is exactly what they had in mind. Not even a new dinosaur backpack could help.

Giggles and Gummy Bears

The I Heart Faces challenge this week is WHITE. On a blank canvas the giggles stand out even more. With the help of gummy bears, we can pretty much get most things accomplished. Allowing Mom take your picture is one of those times I always have to pull out all the stops. I’m not above the bribe! His twin brother is a different story. He’s not lured by the sweet siren song of candy and wanted no part of our giggle fest. We missed him.

Hail Storm

I love Colorado weather. Really….I can’t complain a bit. When the rest of the country is sweltering…I’m enjoying our 85 degrees. I had to put on a fleece when we sat on the patio the other night (after enjoying a gorgeous sunny day….I know…don’t hate us) However….I do NOT have to like hail. Our roof and my flowers fell victim. A lot of the flowers are not going to make a recovery. Grrr.

And for your viewing pleasure…I ventured out to the garage…and no further.

Summer Fun

I Heart Faces this week is “water”….it provides hours of entertainment around here and a large bill to match. But I do love this picture….one ALWAYS needs goggles in 3 inches of water. You never know when you might need to kick out some laps in the plastic pool.

My “blog more” attempt has been an utter failure….it’s been so long I forgot the password to my own blog. I’ve been busy ya know…..lifeguarding a small plastic pool.

This little guy already has a job or two: sister hugger, singer, or train conductor. (and don’t forget lollipop tester) He was patient, kind and an all around fun kiddo! But not to be out done…little sister had the cutest chubby cheeks. You can only pull that off for so long and I just wanted to squeeze them!

Catching Up Part II

Two of these little guys are 10 months apart. Irish twins have nothin’ on these guys! We were able to get together over Christmas (yes, I am that far behind on blogging) and were able to have fun at their home and enjoy some mild Colorado winter weather. Big Sister and biggest brother were so very helpful and you can tell just how in love they are with the new little ones. I had such emotions at this session…sympathizing and empathizing as a mom with twins and siblings…the sleepless nights and busy days…and oh so fast it goes. One of my favorite shots is of Mom and Dad…in all the chaos, they are taking it in stride and able to steal a quiet moment of bliss in each other.

Where Did My Baby Go?

This week’s challenge at I Heart Faces is “Soft and Sweet.” I think this is up for a lot of interpretation which is cool. I used Florabella’s Actions on this image and I love it. Soft and Sweet.

Where did my little girl go? The one that could sit in tub for hours. Now she can’t..as we don’t have the time and she’s got 3 other siblings taking up her space in the tub and fighting for the best of the floating toys. I could stare at her fair pink face for hours. ♥SIGH♥

I’ve decided that I AM going to get my own family pictures in order. Read ATTEMPT, but I need a game plan. Anyone have any good ideas? I have over 25,000 pictures to go through. Y’all know the story….the cobbler’s kids have no shoes.
